Field Superintendent

Location: Owings Mills, MD

Position Overview

Lewis is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to oversee construction projects throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, Montgomery County, and Frederick County. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating field operations, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and enforcing safety standards while collaborating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and inspection agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules.
• Coordinate daily activities of field crews and subcontractors.
• Monitor job site safety and enforce OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.
• Schedule, coordinate, and oversee required inspections with government agencies.
• Prepare accurate daily reports documenting project progress, workforce, and issues.
• Apply knowledge of construction methods and process equipment installation to resolve field challenges.
• Maintain project productivity while meeting schedule and budget objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Field Superintendent on projects similar in scope to those completed by Lewis.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices and process equipment installation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple crews, subcontractors, and priorities.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is preferred.
• Experience managing projects valued at $5 million or more is strongly preferred.
• Experience with both new construction and renovation projects; historic restoration experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
• Experience with construction management software such as Timberline, Primavera P6, E-Builder, Vela/BIM 360, or similar platforms is preferred.
