Registered Nurse (RN) – GI/Endoscopy | 13-Week Contract

Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy GI/Endoscopy unit providing care for patients undergoing a variety of gastrointestinal procedures. The RN will assist with pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care, administer procedural sedation, monitor patients, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Schedule

• 13-week assignment
• 8-hour day shifts (Monday–Friday)
• Start times vary between 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM based on procedure schedule
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Call required:
  • Monday–Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM (2 call shifts per week)
  • Weekends: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (2 weekend call days per month)

Requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Successful completion of a Procedural Sedation Competency Test
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Experience in GI/Endoscopy procedures preferred

Unit Highlights

• 3 procedure rooms
• 15–30 procedures performed daily
• Common procedures include:
  • ERCP
  • EGD
  • PEG placement
  • Colonoscopy and other GI scopes
  • Occasional GI procedures in the OR
  • Some bronchoscopy procedures
• No floating required
• Unit-specific orientation provided for approximately one week or until competency is achieved
• Scrubs provided
• No dedicated IV team
• 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support available
