About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Impact Officer (CIO) to join its executive leadership team. The CIO will be responsible for defining and leading the organization's impact strategy, with a current focus on reducing lead pollution and poisoning. This role requires a deep understanding of research, data-driven decision-making, and organizational learning to shape the long-term portfolio direction and guide the evolution of the company's programs. The successful candidate will be a systems thinker and collaborative leader, capable of integrating programs, research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, technical excellence, and policy into a coherent strategy that drives measurable impact. Key responsibilities include setting the organization's theory of change, impact targets, and holding departments accountable for delivery. The CIO will also be involved in shaping resource allocation decisions, positioning the company as a global authority on lead exposure science and policy, and engaging with governments, multilateral institutions, and major donors. Applicants for the CIO position at the company should have a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 10 years' experience, including significant time in senior leadership or principal investigator roles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of translating research and evidence into programmatic and policy impact at scale, as well as experience in leading or building research, MEL, or policy functions. Strong management skills and the ability to influence outside direct lines of authority are essential. Direct experience with lead exposure or related toxic chemicals work, field experience in low- and middle-income countries, and a published track record in peer-reviewed literature are desired. The role demands a full-time commitment, with the flexibility to work across time zones and approximately 15% international travel.
