Consultant - Clinical Performance Improvement (Care Transitions) - Healthcare

The Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) provides end-to-end advisory support to healthcare providers, payers, and investors, helping clients navigate complex strategic, operational, financial, and clinical challenges. Responsibilities Support project workstream(s) under the direction of the project workstream pillar Subject Matter Expert (SME), or serve as the SME if the area is within the individual’s core knowledge. Support SME in non-core knowledge areas, including assessment and implementation deliverables. Assist SMEs in establishing client processes and policies that maximize quality and efficiency. Monitor implemented workstreams and provide timely feedback to CPI SMEs as directed. Independently meet with clients and executives to advance project deliverables. Independently create client-facing materials, including slide decks and other deliverables. Develop project plans and deliverables for smaller-scale projects. Lead performance-improvement work teams toward developing future-state processes. Submit complete, accurate, and on-time expense reports and time entry. Participate in work teams, task forces, and other firm-wide initiatives. Notify superiors when bandwidth allows additional utilization. Utilize non-productive time toward professional continuing education and firm advancement. Work in other service lines as directed or assigned. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications Either 3+ years of experience in clinical performance-improvement consulting or 5–10 years of industry experience in a relevant role, with at least two years in a relevant leadership position (e.g., registered nurse manager, social worker, or health-system performance-improvement department). Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required in health or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent training and experience. Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred; candidates without a Master’s must enroll in a Master’s program and earn the degree within three years of hire. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Tableau preferred but not required. Understanding of labor productivity concepts, practices, verbiage, and benchmarking. Analytical skills to support project work and SME functions. Time-management skills to support multiple engagements simultaneously. Resource-management skills. Strong operational knowledge of care management, status assignment, portal entry management, patient placement, throughput processes, discharge barrier mitigation, and post-acute care. Ability to interface with the client’s clinical and ancillary leaders. Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions that align with process improvement. Expected to actively participate in throughput initiatives and independently lead smaller initiatives to enhance process-improvement initiatives. Travel requirement: 50%–75% depending on project needs and client expectations. Salary Range: $90,000 – $135,000 per year.
