Position Information Rank: Rank dependent on qualifications Department: 01721 - PHS - BIOSTATISTICS Location: Salt Lake City, UT Track: New Position to Begin (TBD based on candidate) Details The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS) at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for an Associate or Full Professor-level faculty. The successful candidate will serve as the director of the University of Utah’s Translational Research: Implementation, Analysis and Design (TRIAD) Team, which includes more than 40 master’s and PhD trained biostatisticians and research methodologists in related quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including health economics, survey design, qualitative research, dissemination and implementation, and systematic review. TRIAD is one of nine cores within the University of Utah’s Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) which supports biomedical research across the University of Utah and affiliated institutions. The role includes overseeing and developing TRIAD, collaborating with biomedical researchers, supporting grant proposals, advising graduate students, performing methodological research, and teaching in the Biostatistics Ph.D. emphasis in the PHS Ph.D. program. Candidates should possess research skills and experience required to lead multidisciplinary research teams both nationally and internationally, and pursue independent and collaborative methodological research in biostatistics. Methodological interests include, but are not limited to: Design and analysis of observational studies Design and analysis of clinical trials Causal inference Implementation science methodology Data integration Machine learning Omics (e.g., metabolomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics) Social/behavioral science Longitudinal and multilevel data analysis Appointed faculty will have opportunities to conduct cutting‑edge research, collaborate with multidisciplinary faculty, and work with health care systems and community-based agencies in Salt Lake City, Utah, the United States, and globally. Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. in biostatistics or a related discipline is required, with demonstrated excellence in collaborative and methodological research.
