Job Summary:
The operating room professional will provide acute care surgical services at a Level I trauma center located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves performing a broad range of general, trauma, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology procedures, with an emphasis on laparoscopic and microvascular techniques. The position requires a minimum of three years experience and active licensure in Illinois, supporting a fast-paced surgical environment with a focus on patient safety and operational excellence.

Job Details:

• Location: Springfield, Illinois

• Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (0645-1715)
• Schedule: 40 or more hours per week, with a start date of 07/20/2026
• Required Qualifications: Minimum three years experience; active Illinois license or in application process; BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.
• Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred.
• Experience: General OR and trauma experience required; proficiency in laparoscopic assisted procedures, trauma and neuro cases, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology procedures.
• Procedures & Skills: Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple, cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reduction, free flap microvascular, organ donation, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, trauma cases, emergency management, and operation of electrosurgical units and Hana tables.
• Additional Requirements: Experience with Cerner electronic medical record; knowledge of infection control, radiation safety, universal protocol; ability to administer blood products; and familiarity with blood handling and urinary catheterization.
• On-Call & Call Requirements: Yes, approximately one week per month, with potential for placement on-call in lieu of being called off.
• Other Notes: No float within scope is usually necessary. The role excludes cardiovascular procedures. Must have active Illinois license or be in application process upon submission.
