Line Operator

2nd Shift Line OperatorLocation: Ontario, CA, US, 91761Position Summary: To safely transfer quality product at a high rate of speed from the facility mixing and distribution system to customers preferred packaging. Operate filling and packaging equipment and generally oversee and coordinate activities of other employees on the production line under the guidance and support of the Supervisor/Foreman.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Fill each container to the correct customer specifications, i.e., weight, bottle coding, labels, correct case codingPerform light maintenance of equipment such as lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, timing and sequencing as trained by a qualified maintenance technician.Line operators will be trained in the performance of autonomous maintenance and, once trained, expected to perform those tasks and maintain respective equipmentTrain all other line support on complete line functionsSets up and assembles line for production run and shuts down equipment as needed per schedule.Maintains documentation of production output and losses are properly tagged in Informance Communication and shift handoff to oncoming operatorMaintains operational sanitation; performs sanitation taskPerform quality control checks on proper placement of lids, closure of bags, wrapping, weights, codes, and case inspections.Ensures Ventura Foods' process parameters are metSupport safety culture, raises near misses, reports unsafe conditions or behaviorsResponsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controlsOther duties as assignedEducation and Experience: High School Diploma/GEDKnowledge and Skills:Possesses mechanical aptitude with good hand and eye coordinationAbility to work effectively with and lead others; demonstrates good judgmentElectrical knowledgeEffective written and verbal communication skillsCapable of being forklift licensed/certifiedPhysical Demands: All jobs require sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform the required task(s) and typically also require at a minimum: intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may also be required.Work Environment: Please see the job description for specific requirements of the position for which you are applying. Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements.
