We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Safety & Training Coordinator to support our Safety Department in developing, administering, and continuously improving driver safety and training programs. Position Summary As a Transportation Safety & Training Coordinator, you'll work closely with drivers, operations, and leadership to ensure our workforce is properly trained, regulatory requirements are met, and our commitment to safe operations remains industry leading. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Support company-wide safety initiatives and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Assist in maintaining compliance with DOT, FMCSA, CHP, OSHA, DMV, and company safety policies. Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, certifications, and compliance files. Track required driver qualifications, license renewals, medical certifications, and annual training requirements. Assist with accident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up documentation. Driver Training & Development Coordinate new driver orientation and onboarding programs. Schedule and track required safety training, refresher courses, and continuing education. Support behind-the-wheel evaluations and classroom training activities. Monitor training completion and ensure all required certifications remain current. Assist with developing training materials, presentations, and safety communications. Administrative Support Maintain safety databases and training management systems. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and compliance documentation using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Organize electronic and paper records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Support the Safety Manager with audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting. Assist with department projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Employee Support Serve as a resource for drivers regarding safety procedures, company policies, and training requirements. Communicate professionally with employees, managers, and regulatory agencies. Help coordinate meetings, safety events, and training sessions. Foster positive working relationships across departments. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred). Previous experience in transportation, fleet operations, safety administration, compliance, or employee training. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Professional, customer‑focused attitude with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in passenger transportation, logistics, transit, or commercial fleet operations. Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, DMV, or CHP regulations. Experience coordinating safety or training programs. Familiarity with transportation management or learning management software. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
