SAP BW / BW4HANA Consultant

We are looking for a talented SAP BW / BW4HANA Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise data warehouse and reporting solutions using SAP BW, BW on HANA, and BW/4HANA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SAP data modeling, extraction, integration, reporting, and production support, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW, BW on HANA, and BW/4HANA data warehouse solutions

• Build and enhance ADSOs, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, transformations, DTPs, process chains, Open Hub destinations, and BW queries

• Develop and support data extraction from SAP ECC or S/4HANA functional areas, including FI/CO, SD, MM, HR/HCM, COPA, and Treasury

• Support SAP S/4HANA analytics using CDS Views, analytical queries, ODP frameworks, and SAP Embedded Analytics

• Develop and integrate analytical services and applications using SAP Fiori, SAP Fiori Launchpad, OData services, and REST APIs

• Work with SAP Datasphere, including SAP BW bridge, for cloud data integration, semantic modeling, data federation, virtualization, and warehousing use cases

• Enable SAP Analytics Cloud reporting, live connectivity, dashboarding, analytics, and planning scenarios across SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Datasphere

• Support SAP Business Data Cloud modernization patterns, including governed data products and integration with SAP Datasphere, SAP Databricks, and SAP Analytics Cloud

• Integrate SAP data with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Power BI, and other enterprise data and analytics platforms

• Implement and support ODP, generic extractors, flat-file, DB Connect, and other SAP and non-SAP data integration methods

• Develop and optimize BEx queries, Analysis for Office reports, HANA calculation views, and reporting datasets

• Integrate SAP BW data with enterprise data lake, cloud, Power BI, and downstream analytics platforms

• Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, data engineers, reporting teams, and other stakeholders to understand and prioritize requirements

• Prepare technical designs, data flow diagrams, data lineage, mapping documents, test cases, deployment plans, and operational runbooks

• Conduct unit testing, support system and user acceptance testing, resolve defects, and assist with cutover and go-live activities

• Monitor process chains and data loads, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve incidents and change requests in a timely manner

• Support month-end, quarter-end, year-end, budgeting, and other business-critical processing activities

• Participate in code and design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members

• Continuously improve SAP BW development, deployment, monitoring, and support processes to increase efficiency, performance, and quality

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BW development, implementation, enhancement, and production support

• Strong experience with SAP BW 7.x, SAP BW on HANA, and SAP BW/4HANA

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, including CDS Views, analytical queries, ODP extraction, and Embedded Analytics

• Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP Fiori Launchpad, OData services, REST APIs, and integration of analytical applications

• Experience with SAP Datasphere and SAP BW bridge, including cloud data integration, semantic modeling, federation, virtualization, and data warehousing concepts

• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), including stories, dashboards, live connectivity, analytics, and planning integrations

• Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Cloud Connector integration concepts

• Awareness of SAP Business Data Cloud modernization architecture, governed data products, and SAP Databricks integration is highly desirable

• Experience integrating SAP platforms with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Power BI, APIs, and modern cloud analytics ecosystems

• Experience with ABAP for BW, AMDP, SQLScript, performance optimization, and authorization concepts is preferred

• Strong hands-on experience with ADSOs, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, transformations, DTPs, process chains, Open Hub, and BW queries

• Experience with SAP HANA modeling, including calculation views and mixed-model scenarios

• Experience with ODP extraction, standard and generic extractors, datasource enhancements, DB Connect, and flat-file integration

• Working knowledge of SAP functional areas such as FI/CO, SD, MM, HR/HCM, COPA, and Treasury

• Experience with BEx Query Designer, BEx Analyzer, Analysis for Office, SAP GUI, and HANA Studio or BW Modeling Tools

• Experience integrating SAP BW with downstream data platforms, data lakes, cloud environments, or business intelligence tools such as Power BI

• Experience across the delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, UAT, cutover, go-live, and post-production support

• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, data quality, metadata, and data lineage

• Ability to troubleshoot performance, extraction, transformation, data load, process chain, and reporting issues

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills

• Ability to work independently, lead technical workstreams, collaborate across teams, and manage multiple priorities

• SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAP BTP certification is preferred
