Senior Application Support / Systems Engineer

Job DescriptionJohnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Senior Application Support & Systems Engineer with strong GCP, GKE/Kubernetes, observability, CI/CD, and production support experience. This is a contract opportunity with a leading retail company inToronto (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office). Must Have skills Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in production environments.Strong experience with GKE/Kubernetes, including supporting and troubleshooting Kubernetes-based applications and environments.Experience implementing and supporting observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar platforms.Strong production deployment and application support experience, including incident triage, troubleshooting, and resolution.Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD processes supporting application deployments.Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-based applications, including troubleshooting performance and latency issues.Experience with incident management and production troubleshooting in complex application environments.Experience with distributed tracing and diagnosing application performance issues. Nice to Have skills Experience supporting large-scale retail or eCommerce platforms.Experience with microservices architectures.Broader hands-on experience across observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
