Senior ServiceNow Architect

The Senior ServiceNow Leader will drive operational excellence by leading the design, development, and management of the ServiceNow platform. This role focuses on aligning technology, processes, and teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient digital workflows that support business objectives and ITIL best practices. The position requires a hands-on technical expert with strong leadership skills to oversee platform architecture, custom development, integrations, and compliance in a hybrid work environment. Responsibilities:

• Own configuration, maintenance, and optimization of ServiceNow core modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Request/Service Catalog, Knowledge, CMDB, Discovery, and Asset Management.
• Manage update sets, source control, environment strategy, and release deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Lead platform governance, enforce standards, and drive the ServiceNow platform roadmap.
• Design and implement advanced workflows, custom applications, client/server scripts, and Flow Designer automations.
• Develop scalable scripts using JavaScript and Glide APIs, and extend platform capabilities through IntegrationHub and scripted REST/SOAP APIs.
• Architect, build, and maintain secure integrations with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, OAuth, and MID Server.
• Lead CMDB data modeling, reconciliation, normalization, and configuration item lifecycle improvements.
• Maintain and tune Discovery schedules, probes, patterns, and classification logic.
• Support Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) processes and data quality initiatives.
• Implement and maintain platform security, including RBAC, access controls, audit logging, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Plan and execute platform upgrades, patches, and hotfixes with minimal business disruption.
• Monitor platform health and performance analytics, proactively resolving issues.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and user guides; mentor junior team members and provide subject matter expertise.
• Conduct training sessions for engineers, service desk staff, and business stakeholders.

• 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and administration experience.
• Expert knowledge of ITIL-based ITSM processes.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow Studio.
• Strong experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems via REST/SOAP APIs.
• Proven leadership in platform-level initiatives and technical decision-making.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) plus one or more CIS certifications (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SAM/HAM, or Discovery).
• Experience with Service Operations Workspace, CMDB/Discovery/Service Mapping, and Performance Analytics.
• Familiarity with SAM/HAM job configuration and optimization.
• Experience integrating with Intune or Workspace ONE.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices for ServiceNow.
• Experience working in complex, distributed, or public-sector environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives.

• Must comply with absence approval policies requiring advance notification and contact availability.
• Role requires hybrid work with mandatory onsite presence.
• Must adhere to organizational platform security and compliance standards.

• Hybrid work schedule requiring 3 days onsite per week at Newark, NJ location.
• Contract duration of 6 months with specific start and end dates.
