PRESS OPERATOR Full Time Milwaukee, WI, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1244 Salary Range: $25.00 To $35.00 Hourly Overview The press operator is responsible for set‑up and operation of printing equipment to meet quality and productivity requirements per customer specification. Responsibilities Reviews job tickets to perform setup and operation of flexographic printing press to meet quality and productivity requirements per customer specification Completes documentation in accurate manner Change and install print cylinders and anilox rolls Change deck parts and ink pumps Set print cylinders into register Check proper tension settings, verify repeat lengths are correct, curl is minimized, adhesive weights are correct, and roll appearance and colors are correct Ensure quality and safe operation of equipment Complete processes within allotted set up time Setup and use AVT system Use QC tools to test protocols to monitor quality Monitors viscosity control Color match each color to customer specification Complete viscosity control log Trains Press Assistant Follow AIB guidelines Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety instructions Participate in ongoing CI and Focus improvement processes Background/Experience Minimum three years’ experience working on flexographic print presses Education/Knowledge High School Diploma or equivalent Must be able to read standard and metric measuring tape Specific Skills This position has operations that require muscular coordination, proper lifting techniques and required lifting up to 75 pounds time to time. Hoist is available for use. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and bend Must be able to use measuring tape Must be able to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions Must be able to clearly communicate using production reports and other documents to transfer what transpired during a shift such as material usage, time management, maintenance, and troubleshooting Must be able to accurately identify color defects or shadings in print quality Noise levelNoise level in the working environment is usually loud (80-90 decibels) The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles ABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
