Job Title: Sr. Accountant, Treasury
Location: 3840 Hulen Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76107
Position Type: Full-Time - Contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexibility available)
Salary Range: $78-$80,000 annually | $38–$40 per hour (on-site)

About the Role:
Join our team as a Sr. Accountant in Treasury and play a vital role in safeguarding and optimizing the organization’s financial assets. This professional will lead strategic cash flow management, investments, and revenue receipting activities, ensuring financial stability and compliance. Collaborating closely with senior management, including the CFO and Senior Director of Finance, you will develop and implement strategies aligned with organizational goals, all while advancing your career in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Treasury Operations: Oversee daily cash management, liquidity, and investment activities—optimizing cash utilization, forecasting cash flow, and managing borrowing under the organization’s credit facility.
• Account Reconciliation & Ledger Management: Ensure accuracy of general ledger entries related to cash, investments, and borrowing activities; review reconciliations for compliance.
• Banking & Payments: Approve electronic transactions, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and positive pay files; maintain strong relationships with banking partners.
• Financial Reporting: Provide timely and accurate reports such as cash flow statements, investment performance, and compliance documentation.
• Regulatory & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to regulations like the Public Funds Investment Act; implement internal controls to protect assets.
• Trust Funds & External Reporting: Oversee trust fund activities and prepare reports for external funding entities (state, federal, local, grantors).
• Relationship Management & Negotiations: Negotiate favorable terms for banking services, credit facilities, and investments with external partners.
• Team Leadership: Coach staff, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a high-performance, values-driven team aligned with MHMR’s “We CARE” values.
• Additional Duties: Perform related responsibilities as needed, supporting organizational excellence and compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or Business Management.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in treasury operations, cash management, or related fields; at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Substitutions: Equivalent combination of college coursework and 5+ years of relevant experience can be considered.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Word (intermediate to advanced); familiarity with treasury management systems preferred.
• Knowledge of: MHMR policies, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, finance, and treasury management.
• Certification & Licenses: None required.
• Additional Competencies: Strong leadership and communication skills; strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities; committed to transparency, integrity, and employee engagement.

• Customer Service: Engage effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders with professionalism and compassion.
• Travel: Occasional travel (interagency, conferences) in accordance with MHMR policies.
• Equipment: Utilize standard office equipment and treasury software tools as needed.
