Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Location

Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care (Children's Hospital)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care across neonatal and pediatric populations
• Deliver advanced respiratory support in a Level 4 NICU environment
• Participate in a self-scheduling model; scheduling accommodations will be made on a best-effort basis with no guarantee of desired schedule
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including RTO limits of a maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract period
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules (up to 16 non-billable hours) as recorded in the facility's system

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Active Virginia state license required; pending licenses accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the Wednesday prior to the start date — candidate must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• This unit does not have a mileage restriction; local candidates may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
