Accountant II

Accountant IIThe Accountant II will be responsible for specific tasks performed in finance which include general ledger, reinsurance, account analysis, and compliance.ResponsibilitiesCreate recurring journal entries based on standard monthly support as well as be point person for any ad-hoc entriesAssist in the preparation of month end reports to substantiate and document account balancesPrepare reinsurance billings, process resulting reinsurance journal entries and complete reinsurance tables and schedulesPrepare account reconciliations and investigate unusual itemsGenerate GL data requestsAssist in the timely preparation of the statutory financial statement and state compliance filingsAssist with gathering information for internal and external audit requestsWork closely with team members to coordinate monthly and quarterly close processesAd-hoc projects as requestedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance2-4 years of experience in accounting or financeExcellent PC skills, with a strong background in Microsoft ExcelA quick learner, with an ability to be flexible and have demonstrated skills to work effectively independently as well as in a team-oriented environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detailExperience in Oracle, Property/Casualty insurance industry, insurance accounting, or IFRS accounting a plusThis job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.
