Job Title: Chemical Operations Technician

Location: Torrance, CA (Onsite)

Duration: Contract through November 7, 2026

Schedule:

• Training on day shift for approximately the first month
• Then transition to a rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule
• Overtime may be required

Job Summary

We are seeking a Chemical Operations Technician to join a leading chemical manufacturing facility in Torrance, CA. This role is responsible for supporting finished goods logistics, chemical packaging, loading and unloading operations, equipment monitoring, and maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.

Candidates must have prior chemical manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks, railcars, and ISO containers
• Package finished products into drums and totes
• Sample, weigh, inspect, and verify product shipments
• Operate and monitor production and process equipment
• Perform routine equipment inspections and field checks
• Assist with process troubleshooting and report equipment issues
• Maintain accurate production documentation and records
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and operating disciplines
• Perform general plant housekeeping and maintain clean work areas
• Support preventive maintenance activities and minor operator maintenance
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and logistics teams
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EH&S/HSEQ) policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is required
• Experience operating manufacturing or process equipment
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic computer skills
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour day/night shifts and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with chemical packaging, drum or tote filling, or bulk loading
• SAP or other manufacturing ERP experience
• Experience with hazardous materials and chemical safety procedures
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and process troubleshooting
• Familiarity with EH&S, HAZMAT, LOTO, or RCRA regulations
