Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is a growing industrial equipment manufacturer scaling from $100M to $500M in revenue over the next five years. To support that growth, they're moving away from a traditional fab-weld-assemble-paint approach and investing heavily in automation, Industry 4.0 principles, and AI-enabled manufacturing technology to increase production capacity and reduce reliance on manual labor. Job Description The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is a hands-on, high-impact individual contributor responsible for identifying, developing, simplifying, and implementing advanced manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. This role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Leadership to improve manufacturing performance while preserving the speed and agility of a nimble organization. The ideal candidate brings experience from a mid- to large-cap manufacturing company and knows how to apply scalable best practices without adding unnecessary complexity. What You'll Be Responsible For Serving as a high-performing project manager for advanced manufacturing initiatives, including process design, automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies Evaluating, specifying, justifying, and implementing manufacturing processes, systems, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and technologies that improve productivity, safety, quality, and cost Applying AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, computer vision, or other intelligent manufacturing tools to improve decision-making, equipment reliability, quality detection, labor efficiency, and process optimization Simplifying manufacturing processes, workflows, documentation, and system interactions while maintaining appropriate controls and scalability Supporting cross-functional projects from concept through implementation Developing business cases, ROI analyses, and technical recommendations for capital investments Facilitating continuous improvement activities using Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and standard work Analyzing production, quality, labor, maintenance, and equipment data to identify optimization opportunities Running pilot programs and proof-of-concept projects for emerging manufacturing technologies Developing standardized processes, work instructions, equipment specifications, and documentation Acting as a technical resource and coach for manufacturing teams, influencing through expertise and data Required Experience/Skills 7+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, industrial engineering, or automation experience Hands-on experience evaluating and implementing automation, digital manufacturing, AI-enabled tools, robotics, or smart manufacturing technologies Experience with a mid- to large-cap manufacturing company, with the ability to bring structured best practices to a leaner, faster-moving environment Experience supporting capital projects, equipment selection, process validation, and cross-functional implementation Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, standard work, and continuous improvement methodologies Proficiency with ERP, MES, CMMS, and manufacturing data/reporting systems Financial acumen including capital budgeting, cost modeling, and ROI analysis Nice-to-Haves Experience in heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, engineered products, fabrication, assembly, or complex discrete manufacturing Background with companies known for advanced manufacturing maturity (e.g., Aceita, MWES) or EV manufacturers Working knowledge of AI applications in manufacturing: predictive maintenance, quality inspection, anomaly detection, scheduling support Education Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field required Pay & Benefits Summary $100k - $120k based on skills and experience Full benefits package offered #J-18808-Ljbffr Catapult Solutions Group
