We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to take a leading role in managing the financial operations of a dynamic property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting skills with business partnership, process improvement, and portfolio-level insight.

In this role, you will help ensure the financial health of a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties , delivering accurate reporting, driving month-end close, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and partnering closely with property management and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Analyze operating results, variances, and budget-to-actual performance
• Partner with property managers and asset managers to support financial decision-making
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Review CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, rent rolls, and lease-related accounting, where applicable
• Support annual budgets, reforecasts, and audit requests
• Monitor cash activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reserve balances
• Assist with process improvements and implementation of best practices across the accounting function
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on portfolio accounting matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of property accounting experience, preferably in commercial or residential real estate
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in ERP or property management/accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, AppFolio, or similar platforms
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple xhyhwjd properties, deadlines, and priorities in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA-track preferred
• Experience with CAM, lease administration, or multifamily accounting
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff
• Exposure to budget preparation, forecasting, and audit support
