Vallely Sport & Marine is a Boating Industry Top 100 Marine Dealer (17 consecutive years) and Powersports Business Power 50 dealer, MRAA Five-Star Certified, family-owned since 1974. We sell marketshare-leading brands — Bennington pontoons, Evotti and Flamingo tri-toons, Lund fishing boats, MasterCraft wake and surf boats, Sea Ray boats, Yamaha boats and WaveRunners, Yamaha motorcycles, ATVs and Side x Sides, and Glacier fish houses — from a state-of-the-art facility, and we are hiring one salesperson to our expanding team.

You already know how to work a lead, hold a gross and ask for the business. What you probably don't have: customers who are excited to see you. Nobody needs a wake boat. They walk in because they've been picturing this for years, and your job is to help them get it right, not to survive a grind-it-out negotiation. Our customers make some of their favorite memories on boats with their families or with their friends on their motorcycles. Fewer hours than a car store, a pay plan that isn't rewritten every year – the ability to make more money than car sales, and a finance office and service department that make you look good after the sale. Picture this, you're at your desk inside a luxurious, modern facility. You see a beautiful $200k boat next to a loaded up side-by-side, you look the other way and see customers genuinely excited to be there. The phone is ringing, someone wants a quote on the latest model. 9am to 6pm Monday though Friday, sometimes 9am to 2pm on Saturday. No long hours on the road, more stability and similar pay to the oilfield, flexibility in your schedule to make the rest of your life work, and competent, tenured coworkers. You get great experience working for a nationally competitive company, locally. 

The role

• Sell the best-selling brands in ND/nationally across boats, PWC, motorcycles, ATVs, Side x Sides and fish houses to walk-in, phone, web and social media customers
• Work every lead in the CRM from first contact through delivery and follow-up — your pipeline is your paycheck
• Know the product: specs, options, rigging, competitive advantages – ability to overcome objections
  
• Build a customer base that comes back and sends friends; repeat and referral business is where the top earners separate themselves
• Use technology in the process: CRM, digital quoting, video walkarounds, texting and email follow-up
• Show up on social media — share inventory, deliveries and events; our customers live there
• Keep the showroom and lot presentable and participate in boat shows, open houses, demo days and seasonal events
• Maintain website photos and descriptions

Compensation
Base wage plus commission.
On-target earnings are $100,000–$150,000+ depending on experience. Top performers exceed that; there is no cap.

Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person role.

• Monday–Friday 8:30am–6pm
• Saturdays twice a month, 9am–2pm
• Averages 45 hours per week October–February, up to 55 in peak season March–September. We're stating this plainly so you can decide with the real numbers.

Don't apply if

• You aren't prepared to build relationships with customers and treat the sale like you're a cashier
• You aren't comfortable following up leads 5+ times over a month or two
• You prefer comfort over improvement in a slow-paced environment
• You don't like occasionally having to clean off a boat or move inventory around the lot 
  
• Have minimal employment experience

Requirements (must have at least one):

• Sales experience: 2+ years in any retail or consultative setting
• Real estate, automotive, RV, marine or powersports sales experience
• Bachelor's degree

Preferences

• Personal experience boating, fishing, or riding
  
• Comfortable on camera and on social media
  

Exceptions

• Candidates who are highly intelligent, humble, focused and proven fast learners/high-performers
