Education/Certification Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- One-year related work experience in an office setting
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
- Computer operations
- Software productivity tools (i.e., Microsoft Office)
- Printers
- Job-related financial and student management systems
- Electronic file management
- District Acceptable Use of Policy and Technology Ethics/Etiquette
- Possess organizational and time management skills
- Ability to relate well to others
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, works under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintains confidentiality
- Informing appropriate school staff of referrals for Section 504 evaluations and providing a written response to the request by sending a Section 504 Request for Evaluation and consent form or Denial of Request for Section 504 Evaluation form within 10 days.
- Gathering all required documentation for upcoming 504 meetings
- Maintains physical and electronic 504 records for students in the district data management programs and cumulative folders
- Distributes needed forms to parents to include, but not limited to, meetings notices, evaluations and plans
- Assist in scheduling Section 504 meetings by call parents and sending invitations to staff and parents
- Ensuring compliance with district, state and federal law for Section 504
- Attend district Section 504 training with administrator
- Assist in the promotion of positive community relations through effective email and phone communications with parents. teachers, administrators and other district personnel
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times
- Meet all timelines as determined by the district
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training, as necessary
- Ability to receive and convey information and/or instruction from internal/external customers through spoken expression
- Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards
- Ability to perform work while standing and/or walking for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours a day
- Ability to see detailed information, naturally or with correction
