Position: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM)

Job Description

The Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a multidisciplinary environment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of medical-surgical and telemetry nursing fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience.
• MUST HAVE a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross are required.
• Recent (within the last 6 months) experience with Epic charting is mandatory.
• A recent reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required to qualify for submission. Charge RN references are also accepted.
• Travelers must be available to work at least every other holiday.

Assessment Requirements

• Completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate during orientation, with acceptable scores required.
• Two attempts are provided to achieve passing scores; failure to pass will result in cancellation of the assignment.

Additional Details

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
• Must complete comprehensive background checks; any open cases may result in disqualification.
• Nurses and CSTs are exempt from nicotine-free facility requirements temporarily.
• All other travelers must be nicotine-free, with a negative 10-panel drug screen required within the last 12 months, to be updated annually.
• Permanent or per diem candidates cannot return to the facility for one year following their previous end date.

Professional Development

• Travel candidates who maintain a continuous contract for a minimum of one year must complete annual hands-on competency training.
• Annual modules related to competency will vary by specialty, with an average requirement of 6-15 hours, and up to 4 hours of modules are billable.
