CNC Lathe Operator We are currently seeking CNC Lathe Operator for our Shields Manufacturing facility in Tualatin Oregon. (On-site position). Summary: Under general supervision, operate, monitor, and complete production jobs on CNC lathes in conformance with pre-determined instructions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Duties: Operate CNC machines, manual mills/lathes. Inspect parts to customer specifications from blue prints. Monitor tool performance and change out when required. Verify conformance to dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts. Deburr part(s) as time allows. Keep your area clean and organized. Education/Qualifications: Vocational training in metal fabrication or machining relevant work experience may substitute for vocational training. Minimum 1 year of experience in the operation of milling machines, lathes, and CNC equipment. Demonstrated proficiency using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and height/depth gauges. Ability to read blue prints and understand geometric tolerances. Strong communication skills. Must be a self-starter & self-motivated. Must be able to handle multiple tasks. Problem solving skills. Work Setting: A machining environment with frequent noise in an indoor seasonally air-conditioned and heated environment. Requires standing for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection) where required. May operate moving equipment (forklift) as required to perform essential job functions.
