Key Responsibilities of the OR RN

• Provide quality patient care and assess patient needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual requirements.
• Recognize safety issues to self and others; assess and implement use of lifts for patient safety.
• Function well in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills.
• Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge of clinical equipment for a safe environment within OR/ASU settings.
• Interpret lethal dysrhythmias accurately.
• On-call duties with a 30-minute response time.

Requirements of the OR RN

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current NYS RN license
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred
