Schedule: 7am-3pm Monday - Friday

Position Summary

Solenoid Solutions, a Control Devices, LLC company, is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Mill Operator with setup capabilities to support our manufacturing operations . This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC milling equipment to manufacture high-quality precision parts while meeting established production, efficiency, quality, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on CNC milling experience, including the ability to perform machine setups, tooling changes, work offsets, and adjustments to maintain production accuracy. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and proficiency with precision measuring instruments.

Key Responsibilities

· Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines according to established procedures, setup sheets, and production specifications.

· Perform CNC mill setups, including installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, workholding devices, and machine offsets.

· Load and unload parts and materials while ensuring proper positioning and secure workholding.

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and setup instructions to ensure parts meet required specifications.

· Establish and adjust tool offsets, work offsets, and cutting parameters as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy.

· Perform tooling changes, machine changeovers, and setup verification for new production runs.

· Inspect and measure manufactured parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.

· Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments before continuing production.

· Identify machine performance issues, troubleshoot basic setup or tooling problems, and make adjustments to minimize downtime.

· Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

· Follow proper machine startup, operation, shutdown, and power-down procedures.

· Complete production reports, setup documentation, and other required manufacturing records.

· Remove chips and debris using appropriate tools and established safety procedures.

· Maintain clean, organized work areas and perform daily machine cleaning and end-of-shift housekeeping.

· Understand and support departmental goals related to efficiency, machine utilization, scrap reduction, and quality.

· Stop machine operations when products are not meeting required specifications and notify appropriate personnel.

· Follow all company policies, plant safety procedures, and quality standards.

· Work overtime as needed to support production requirements.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

· Previous CNC milling machine operation experience.

· Demonstrated ability to perform CNC mill setups, including tooling changes, fixture installation, and offset adjustments.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining specifications.

· Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

· Understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, workholding, and basic machine adjustments.

· Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and measurements.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify problems and perform basic troubleshooting.

· Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience independently setting up CNC milling machines for production runs.

· Familiarity with CNC controls, G-code, and M-code.

· Experience making basic CNC program edits or adjustments at the machine.

· Experience with multiple tooling configurations, fixtures, and machining operations.

· Familiarity with machine setup sheets, tooling documentation, and production reporting.

· Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand for extended periods while operating manufacturing equipment.

· Frequent use of hands and arms to handle materials, operate machinery, and perform inspections.

· Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required.

· Ability to occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds, with appropriate assistance or equipment when needed.

· Visual ability to inspect parts, read gauges, and identify quality concerns.

· Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment around machinery, equipment, and production materials.
