Location: US remote

Rate: $45/hr on W2

Position Summary

This role requires a critical thinker with strong leadership capabilities, technical understanding of mainframe environments, and exceptional interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

a. Lead end-to-end competitive takeout migration projects involving the mainframe systems (e.g., z/OS, COBOL, DB2), including networking and distributed integrations

b. Develop and manage complex detailed project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocations, including cross project and business unit (Client) dependencies

c. Coordinate cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application, data, and business stakeholders.

d. Work closely and lead Client and 3rd party service providers, coordinating the overall activities to align to planned milestones.

e. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.

f. Facilitate regular status updates, steering committee meetings, technical working sessions and executive briefings.

g. Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, system compatibility, resource (human and technology) availability and business continuity.

h. Assist the Client with their change control processes and ensure smooth transition with minimal disruption.

i. Ensure migration activities adhere to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols.

j. Oversee testing, validation, and post-migration support phases.

k. Maintain comprehensive documentation including migration strategy, architecture, test plans, important decisions made and lessons learned.

l. Provide timely and accurate reporting on project health, milestones, and KPIs.

m. Track/Manage Open cases with IBM Support

n. Briefs Project Executive leadership on blocking issues or migration risks/challenges.

a. On-time delivery of migration milestones and final cutover.

f. Compliance with data integrity and security standards.

Deliverables

Each project manager is accountable for every Deliverable defined in the SoW (and any subsequent PCRs) for their workstreams. Each Deliverable is expected to be of high quality and should be reviewed for formatting, fonts, diagrams, language, references and appropriateness of content.

In addition, each Project Manager is responsible for the following:

a. Client-facing Status Reports (to both Client and internal repositories)

b. Project Plan

c. Meeting Minutes

d. Labor tracking

e. Financial Tracking

f. Purchase Orders (for subcontractors)

g. Staffing Plans

h. Weekly updates to workstream status, end date

i. Project Change Request content

j. Lessons Learned

k. RAID Logs

l. Revenue forecasts

Tool Proficiency

Each project manager is expected to be able to leverage the Microsoft office tool suite effectively, including but not limited to:

a. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, Visio

b. Box

c. Tools: Lead to Cash, Invoices, Analytics Portal, Clarizen
