Salary Range $23.00 - $34.50/hr Location Price Rite of Syracuse, Syracuse, NY 13210 Job Summary Manages the performance of all aspects of Front End Operations, including cash management, bookkeeping, front‑end service, and payroll. Coordinates community and store event programs throughout the store. Minimum Required Qualifications Directly supervises cashiers, bookkeepers, front‑end supervisors. Associate Degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or university; five (5) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills a must. Background in store operations and work scheduling required. Ability to read and interpret general business reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Strong mathematical skills: probability and statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables. Physical: regular sitting, talking, hearing; ability to walk, stand for minimum 4 hours; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Noise level moderate. Essential Job Functions Maintain security of all store systems (IBM, Wakefern Applications, DSD). Ensure proper maintenance and usage of job‑related equipment. Perform corrective actions for transaction journals, check override reports, negative entries, cash control, refunds, promotions, customer service, and front‑end culture standards. Maintain all shrink initiatives and ensure procedures such as Smart Store are followed. Achieve or surpass department productivity and payroll goals. Submit reports to store and corporate management for key indicators. Administer company policies on check cashing, refunds, exchanges, and gift certificates. Ensure compliance with Wakefern Food Corporation, state, and company QA and sanitation standards. Maintain cash handling procedures. Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop all department personnel. Manage others and adhere to HR and personnel policies, state and federal labor laws. Ensure training programs for front‑end personnel, bookkeeping, payroll are administered and documented. Troubleshoot system/hardware issues related to operations. Communicate to store management and support staff about any issues affecting front‑end operations. Counsel team members who do not meet performance standards. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing superior service level. Educate customers with proper signage concerning events and programs. Analyze financial and operational processes for cost savings. Meet financial goals according to the annual budget. Handle customer complaints per company standards. Hold a company‑recognized Food Safety Certification or be able to complete training.
