Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate Salary Range: $51,614 / Annually JOB PURPOSE: Provideshigh quality professional counseling services for assigned clients. Utilizescounseling and diagnostic skills to conduct intake evaluations, formulate adiagnostic summary, facilitate formulation of a person-centered recovery planand identifies additional needs/barriers to be addressed. Facilitatesformulation of safety, crisis and transition plans. Provides individual, parentand family counseling consistent with recovery plan and utilization managementguidelines. Functions as member of multidisciplinary team and may provideconsultation to case managers, care coordinators, skills trainers and peers.May perform crisis assessments, immediate crisis interventions, and makerecommendations and/or referrals for crisis resolution. Documents all servicesand activities per established agency guidelines. Serves as a resourceregarding mental health and substance use for other personnel, both internallyand from other agencies. May facilitate training opportunities regarding mentalhealth and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders andbest-practice programs. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEREQUIRED: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with amajor in social, behavioral or human services. Licensed as a ProfessionalCounselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and FamilyTherapist in the State of Texas required. Experience working in a counseling ormental health setting preferred. Experience with public speaking preferred. DEGREE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE): LPC/LCSW/LMFT DRIVING REQUIRED: Yes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &ABILITIES:

Polished diagnostic interviewing andcounseling skills. Ability to integrate interviewinformation, develop a case formulation and initial diagnoses. Ability to engage individuals in aperson centered recovery planning process, identifying the individual's goals,objectives, needs and barriers. Ability to engage individuals incrisis and safety planning. Professional written and verbalcommunication skills. Ability to write progress notes,assessments, brief mental status exams, memos, letters, various complex reportsand miscellaneous documents according to professional and agency standards. Computer - skilled in the use oftechnology with Microsoft Office, experience with an electronic health record aplus. Familiarity with community mentalhealth and other resources Ability to build rapport withindividuals including coworkers. Demonstrate skill in utilizingappropriate professional tools and interventions. Interacts with diverse cultural,ethnic, and economic backgrounds and municipal organizations and agencies. Acquires and uses new skills as thejob requires. Ability to work with considerablelatitude and exercise discretion and independent judgment. This would includeskills in problem solving. Ability to complete all jobrequirements in a timely manner. OTHER REQUIREMENTS ORCONDITIONS(specify): Will interact with other consumers,referral sources, outside agencies, and family members to determine needs andactions to be taken. Current State of Texas Driver Licenseor if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. Liability insurance required ifemployee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Centerbusiness. Must be insurable by Center's liability carrier if employee operatesa Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must complete all trainingrequirements in month in which they are due. May be required to provide on-callduties. Availability of a personal vehicle forbusiness use may be required. Work will predominantly be performedwithin a clinical office setting. Some positions may require services incommunity setting, area schools, correctional facilities, and within client'sresidences, which may include shelters and temporary housing. May be responsible for providing groupservices and/or crisis services as needed. Must submit to and pass apre-employment drug test. Must successfully pass all backgroundscreens as required by the state Ability to input data into computer,make calculations, complete paperwork, produce reports. Must be physically able to perform alljob requirements that may include home/school visits, walking on unevensurfaces, climbing stairs, and standing or sitting for long periods of time ifrequired. May be required to work flexible hoursincluding evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
