Litigation Defense Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Defense Attorney for its New York City office. The ideal candidate will have experience in Labor & Employment, Professional Liability, and/or Commercial Litigation, and will excel in a collaborative environment that offers meaningful responsibility and career growth opportunities. Duties Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution. Draft and respond to written discovery. Take and defend depositions. Prepare motions, briefs, and other substantive pleadings. Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and oral arguments. Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic case updates. Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on complex matters. Assist with all aspects of litigation strategy and case management. Requirements Admission to practice in New York required. Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience. Experience in Labor & Employment, Professional Liability, and/or Commercial Litigation preferred. Experience handling legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, and other professional liability matters is highly preferred. Excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Strong organizational and case management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic litigation environment. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications Admission to the New York State Bar. Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
