• This Physician is a team member of the Hematology Oncology Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice. The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of Hematology/Oncology conditions.

• Specialists in this field are responsible for the nonsurgical care of a wide range of diseases, treatment and prevention of blood diseases and cancers.
\n

\n
• Duties include but are not limited to the following:
\n

• The physician will perform or assist in related procedures.
\n

\n
• There may be times when the clinician would have to visit a CBOC for meetings or training.
\n

\n
• Supervision of oncology fellows.
\n

\n
• Supervision of medical instrument technicians.
\n

\n
• No call coverage, outpatient only
\n

\n
• Office Hours: 8 – 4:30 pm, Monday -Friday
\n
• Hem/Onc Board Certification Required
\n
• EDRP, a medical school loan reimbursement program, is approved for this position.
\n
• The Hershel "Woody" Williams VAMC is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility, offering primary care, outpatient mental health services, and subspecialty outpatient care. VA-staffed community-based outpatient clinics are in Charleston, West Virginia, and Prestonsburg, Kentucky. In addition, outreach clinics are in Gallipolis, Ohio and Lenore, West Virginia.
