Data Governance Analyst - Birmingham or Atlanta

At Regions, the Data Governance Analyst serves as a key resource and important intermediary between the data owners and the data consumers of the bank. Maintains connections and competencies in both the technical operational, reporting functional and analytical modeling data needs of the bank data citizens, with minimal guidance. Primary Responsibilities Measures and monitors data quality, designs, and executes remediation plans, maintains, and supports applicable data management standards Implements and supports data quality requirements as designed by the Data Owner, including the business rules and movement controls Performs user acceptance testing (with applicable consumers) and reviews results with Data Owner for approval Reviews data quality issues, perform analysis, recommend fixes, and/or report timely any breaches of thresholds to Data Owners, Data Consumers, and escalate as needed to Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Manages and resolves or remediates data issues identified by Data Owners and Data Consumers Manages, executes and tracks data quality remediation plans in coordination with all stakeholders Tracks and reports data quality statistics for data quality for stewarded application(s), warehouse or mart (including developing evidence of compliance with Data standards) Collects and updates business metadata and references data for the data they are assigned to Translates business rules into data quality rules and produces data controls (in conjunction with the Data Custodians) Ensures data for all Enterprise Critical Data Elements (ECDEs) is provisioned in an appropriate authoritative source (in conjunction with Data Custodians) Supports applications and platforms to enable effective sharing of data from authoritative data sources Provides training and data assistance as needed May act as a resource to associates with less experience This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or related field and seven (7) years of Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or related experience Or High School Diploma or GED and eleven (11) years of Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or related experience Preferences Master’s degree in Business, Science, or related field Skills and Competencies Ability to learn additional systems as needed Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions Ability to work under limited guidance Administrative ability and experience with communications with multiple stakeholders. Advanced skills in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and Data Modeling, Capacity for day-to-day, hands‑on execution Demonstrated ability to lead a team including an Agile team. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the applicable tools (e.g., DG, DQ, Metadata tool) Experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner. Familiarity with data quality issues and Exact, Transform, Load (ETL) processes Presentation ability with multiple visualization tools. Skilled with advanced data management techniques and tooling that can leverage Big Data environment. Solid written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and application development skills Strong ability to review and analyze data, and identify and resolve problems Strong Banking Data Domain expertise including hands on experience and analysis of lending, deposit, and investment data. Strong project management skills including leading projects and independent data related work streams. Strong research and problem determination and solution skills Strong skills in data analysis - developing macros, scripts, queries to calculate data quality Typically work across many data assets and is an operations or technology person who is responsible for a data asset as it flows through systems Understanding of data architecture practices Additional Must-Have Qualifications Candidate should have expertise within Data Governance with strong familiarity with regulatory submissions Familiarity with regulatory submissions like FDIC 370 and 2052a Data Quality and/or Data Anomaly management using AI based tools and frameworks like Snowflake Data Lineage: 3+ years of experience using lineage tools like Bigeye for data governance. Familiarity with Gen AI focused tools and frameworks like CoPilot and Snowflake is a plus Financial Industry experience is a plus This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in‑office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary locations being for Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely. Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time. Compensation Details Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job. The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position. Job Range Target: Minimum $116,136.35 USD 50th Percentile $148,110.00 USD Incentive Pay Plans: This job may participate in an annual discretionary bonus plan.
