This position is well suited for a Texas‑licensed attorney with approximately 5–10 years of experience who has handled complex civil litigation or has a strong interest in expanding within one or more of the following areas: First‑party and third‑party insurance coverage Construction defect and construction litigation Professional liability Business and commercial litigation Medical malpractice Premises liability Trucking and transportation litigation The attorney will work closely with partners and senior associates while managing substantive responsibilities throughout the life of each case. Responsibilities Provide clients with practical legal advice and strategic case guidance Evaluate liability, damages, coverage issues, defenses, and potential exposure Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, reports, and other litigation documents Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution Manage discovery, experts, deadlines, and case‑development strategy Assist with trial preparation and courtroom advocacy Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation matters Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, recommendations, and resolution strategy Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Active Texas Bar license in good standing Approximately 5–10 years of practicing attorney experience Civil litigation, insurance defense, commercial litigation, or related defense experience preferred Experience or demonstrated interest in one or more of the listed practice areas Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills Experience handling discovery, depositions, mediation, and motion practice State and federal court experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and client‑service abilities Ability to manage matters independently while working effectively with a team Salary: $140,000–$190,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and relevant practice‑area background.
