Project Manager - Education Facilities

Your impact We’re seeking an experienced and collaborative Project Manager to support our Pre K–14 and Higher Education clients across the Upstate/Capital District Region of New York State. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll guide complex capital projects from early planning through closeout, working closely with owners, designers, contractors, and stakeholders unique to school and campus environments. What You’ll Do Lead multiple education projects simultaneously using established project controls and procedures Provide on site leadership in scheduling, safety, construction quality, and design coordination Manage change orders, cost reviews, contractor payment applications, and procurement processes Coordinate with school district administrators, facilities teams, academic departments, and community groups to maintain alignment with program goals Address project critical issues that arise in active learning environments, including phased construction, site constraints, and occupant safety Support early planning efforts such as educational specifications, design development, and budget/schedule validation Ensure strict adherence to safety and security requirements for occupied school and campus facilities Here’s what you’ll need High school diploma required; Bachelor’s in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction preferred 10+ years of construction experience across large scale or multi phase building/rehabilitation projects 4+ years as an Assistant Project Manager Strong understanding of pre design, pre construction, contract management, project delivery methods, and building systems Ability to manage 4–5 projects at once while providing confident, effective leadership on active school or campus sites Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to pass required background checks to access secure school facilities Ideally, you’ll have: Experience managing Pre K–12 school construction, district capital programs, or Higher Education facilities projects; CCM certification a plus Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
