Craftsman - General Services Division

Position Summary The Craftsman is responsible for performing skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work across building, civil, and structural service projects. This role supports field leadership and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Gallo Mechanical Services quality standards. Key Responsibilities Field Operations Perform assigned trade work per plans and specifications Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance activities Follow daily work plans and schedules Maintain productivity and workmanship standards Support foremen and supervisors Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA and company safety policies Wear required PPE at all times Report unsafe conditions Participate in safety meetings Maintain clean and organized work areas Quality Workmanship Deliver high-quality craftsmanship Follow industry and company standards Inspect own work for accuracy Correct deficiencies when identified Material & Tool Management Use tools and equipment properly Maintain assigned tools Handle materials carefully Reduce waste and loss Teamwork & Communication Work cooperatively with crew members Communicate progress and issues Follow instructions from supervisors Represent Gallo professionally Scope of Work Building Services Drywall installation and repair Painting and finishing Door and window installation Remodeling support Ceiling and flooring installation Gutter and fence installation Roof inspection assistance Striping assistance Street and surface maintenance Sweeping support Structural Services Demolition support Concrete placement and finishingFraming assistance Porch construction Qualifications 2+ years construction or trade experience preferred Ability to read basic drawings and instructions Knowledge of hand and power tools Strong work ethic and reliability Valid driver’s license preferred OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred Physical Requirements Work outdoors in varying weather conditions Lift up to 75 lbs Climb ladders and scaffolding Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods Work at heights when required Performance Expectations Follow safety procedures at all times Meet daily production goals Maintain quality workmanship Demonstrate professionalism Support team and company objectives Founded in 1945, Gallo Mechanical is a premier mechanical construction and service provider headquartered in New Orleans, bringing more than 80 years of experience delivering mission‑critical HVAC and plumbing solutions across the southeastern United States—from Houston to the Carolinas.
