Database Data Analyst

Salary: $58,240 - 66,560 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or mathematics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform SQL/database query work and data reporting.
• Experience gathering requirements and documenting functional requirements is preferred.
• Experience testing data extracts to support data quality and consistent reporting is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft O365 tools, including SQL and data visualization platforms, is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Lead requirements gathering for complex education data reporting from the statewide Student Information System, analyzing and prioritizing needs to align with standards, strategic goals, and stakeholder priorities.
• Analyze systems and design technical solutions that meet stakeholder needs; document functional requirements and coordinate with data stewards and system users to define reporting and system needs.
• Design, develop, and validate complex SQL-based data extraction processes for statewide reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Test extract outputs and data quality using SQL queries and other database tools to compare datasets and assess data integrity.
• Analyze database structures, integrations, and system interfaces to identify data integrity issues and implement technical solutions.
• Communicate with system users about concerns, determine causes, and recommend solutions.
• Define reporting needs, establish a reporting calendar, and maintain SharePoint documentation for reporting, extract development, and quality assurance processes.
• Take initiative and complete assigned work to meet quality and timeliness expectations.
