Vice President, Chief Quality Officer

Cone Health, a $3.5 billion private, nonprofit, multi-hospital integrated health system that is financially strong, innovative, growing, and a leader in value-based care delivery, is seeking a Vice President, Chief Quality Officer (CQO) during the most dynamic and transformational time in the history of the organization that serves residents in a hyper-competitive and fast-growing market in central North Carolina.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive, the Chief Quality Officer leads the strategy, direction, and operational management of quality and safety programs across Cone Health (system level role). The CQO partners closely with the Chief Physician Executive, Regional Presidents, Regional CMOs, CNOs, and other clinical and medical group leaders to advance clinical and operational quality and safety enterprise-wide. This executive builds the strategy, infrastructure, and multidisciplinary teams needed to reduce variation in patient care and drive continuous improvement in clinical quality and patient safety, while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements. The CQO serves as a highly visible leader, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and value through evidence-based programs and continuous-improvement methodologies such as LEAN and Six Sigma.
