Ignite Connections and Transform Lives in the City of Brotherly Love – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Picture a career where your passion for communication doesn't just inspire words—it brings them to life! As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic landscape of Philadelphia, your expertise will go beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders; you'll have the power to unlock potential, reinstate confidence, and foster deeper connections. From toddlers articulating their first phrases to seniors who are finding their voices once again, your impact will resonate across the community.
This position is not just about professional fulfillment; it offers a rare chance to engage with diverse populations in a setting that thoughtfully integrates outpatient services with occasional inpatient care. Whether your heart lies in nurturing young minds through pediatric speech development, advocating for adults facing neurogenic disorders, or assisting seniors with cognitive-linguistic challenges, this is a space for you to thrive.
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations with standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
Create individualized treatment plans that target both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions with attention to communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing needs.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to develop cohesive care plans.
Educate patients and their families to support meaningful progress beyond the therapy setting.
Contribute to occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, maintaining continuity throughout treatment.
Ensure precise and timely documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
Pursue ongoing education to stay ahead of advances within the field.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Demonstrated proficiency in implementing evidence-based treatment strategies across the lifespan, with a solid grounding in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, fostering rapport with patients, families, and a collaborative care team.
Flexibility in adapting therapy to accommodate diverse cultural backgrounds and language needs.
Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving capabilities.
Comfort with electronic documentation and compliance standards.
Competitive salary reflective of experience and expertise.
Flexible scheduling options to promote a balanced work-life, accommodating a diverse caseload.
Paths to specialize in pediatric care, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Health coverage options including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Support for continuing education and opportunities for professional growth.
A collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere focused on quality outcomes and lifelong learning.
A Journey Full of Purpose Awaits
In this role, you're invited to do more than just deliver speech therapy; you'll join a dedicated community aiming to revitalize communication, cultivate connections, and create joyful moments that resonate through the simplest acts of understanding and expression.
You will collaborate within a team that shares a familial bond, in a setting that values unity over rivalry. Every patient brings a unique narrative; we trust you to help articulate it beautifully.
Why You'll Adore Life and Work Here
Philadelphia pulses with an invigorating blend of innovation and rich historic charm, creating a vibrant backdrop for both your career and personal life. This city, known for its iconic landmarks and rib-sticking cheesesteaks, offers a unique juxtaposition of urban excitement and community connection that is integral to the American spirit.
Here, families enjoy weekends exploring cultural treasures at museums or cheering on local sports teams, while outdoor enthusiasts bask in the beauty of nearby parks and trails. Culinary adventures abound—from street vendors serving up world-famous delights to the city's celebrated chef-driven eateries. Availability of diverse entertainment options promises there's never a dull moment, with art fairs, live music, and community festivals illuminating the streets.
Professionals in the healthcare sector benefit significantly from the thriving industry landscape and the city's supportive resources, all while enjoying a reasonable cost of living and a community that embraces change and growth.
For those either just starting or seasoned in their careers, this is the ideal environment for blossoming—both personally and professionally.
Who We're Seeking
We're looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who draws energy from compassionate interactions and results-driven care. You will be the person who sees potential in a timid child and envisions bright conversations ahead. You will resonate with the determination heard in the words of a stroke survivor, recognizing the resilience beneath their challenges.
You could be a pediatric expert eager to integrate adult care into your skillset; perhaps a neuro-focused clinician excited to explore early intervention practices.
Whatever your inspiration, if you are ready to blend heart and expertise into your work, we are eager to welcome you into our community.
Let's Craft Meaningful Conversations Together
If you understand that speech transcends mere sound, that therapy goes beyond tasks, that trust comes before success, and that laughter is as important as language, this position could represent the next exciting chapter in your professional journey.
Join us in a community that cherishes communication, celebrates connection, and acknowledges the courage of taking a step back into the world. Apply today to breathe new life into our team—and empower others to find their own voices in the process.
