Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY ENGINEERRESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, ASTM, ANSI and other applicable regulatory agenciesCollaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and proceduresOversee and communicate industrial hygiene programs to relevant personnel, including developing and executing exposure monitoring plansImplement controls to mitigate chemical and dust exposure hazardsEvaluate and implement machine guarding for complex and high-volume automated equipmentInspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulationsDesign and deliver chemical-specific awareness trainingComplete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification auditsInvestigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, corrective actions and preventive measuresDevelop, implement and maintain emergency response protocolsAssist with compliance for all applicable environmental regulations established by the EPA, RCRA, DOT, TECQ and other applicable regulatory agenciesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree5+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplinesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or chemical engineeringExperience with reading PI&Ds and process flow diagrams to evaluate risks associated with complex chemical processesFamiliarity with process safety management (PSM) best practicesAdvanced knowledge of implementing best practice chemical and industrial hygiene programs for combustible dusts, oxidizers, acids and bases, and flammablesSpecific experience with high-level program safety management for metal plating lines, copper etching lines, direct or electroless metallization lines, plasma etching systems, and wastewater treatment facilities a plusStrong organizational and communication skillsMicrosoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Bastrop, TX areaPosition occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
