Shift Leader

A shift lead supervises daily operations during a designated work period, bridging the gap between team members and management. They are responsible for delegating tasks, ensuring customer satisfaction, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing cash handling or opening/closing procedures.  

Core Responsibilities

• Team Supervision: Assign tasks, monitor employee performance, and ensure break schedules are followed.
• Customer Service: Act as the primary point of escalation for customer complaints and ensure the team delivers excellent service.
• Operations: Manage opening and closing duties, conduct inventory checks, and oversee cash drawers and deposits.
• Training & Onboarding: Coach new hires on company standards and update the team on new policies or menu items.

• Problem Solving: Resolve equipment, inventory, or staffing issues as they arise during the shift.  

Key Skills Required

• Leadership: Ability to motivate staff, delegate effectively, and lead by example.
• Communication: Clear, professional verbal communication to coordinate staff and address customers.
• Multitasking & Organization: Capacity to manage administrative duties while assisting on the floor during busy periods.
• Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making under pressure or when faced with unexpected disruptions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a retail, food service, or customer-facing role.
• Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early morning or late-night shifts.
• Physical: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (typically 25–40 lbs).
• Technical: Basic computer and register skills, and the ability to learn internal Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
