This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to expand their experience across employee relations, recruitment, investigations, compliance, HR systems, and organizational support while making a meaningful impact within a mission-driven nonprofit.As one of the primary points of contact for Human Resources, you'll partner with employees, supervisors, and leadership to provide outstanding HR service while helping maintain a positive, compliant, and employee-focused workplace.What You'll DoAs our Human Resources Generalist, you will:Serve as the primary contact for employee and applicant Human Resources inquiries.Provide guidance regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.Support recruitment efforts including applicant communications, interview scheduling, hiring events, and onboarding.Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.Conduct or assist with employee relations matters and workplace investigations.Prepare corrective action documentation and maintain confidential personnel records.Assist with HRIS administration, employee status changes, and reporting.Support benefits administration, leave management, and employment verifications.Monitor compliance with licensing, certifications, mandatory training, and employment regulations.Maintain accurate personnel files and HR documentation.Assist with audits, policy implementation, and Human Resources projects.Provide cross-functional support across all Human Resources functions as organizational needs require.QualificationsWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma requiredBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferredMinimum three (3) years of progressive Human Resources experienceExperience with employee relations and workplace investigationsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage confidential information with professionalismExperience using Microsoft 365, HRIS systems, and applicant tracking systemsAbility to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred ExperienceHRIS administrationPolicy and procedure developmentRecruitment and onboardingCompliance and personnel records managementTechnology platforms supporting Human Resources operationsWhy Join Wolverine Human Services?You'll become part of a collaborative Human Resources team dedicated to supporting employees who serve vulnerable children and families throughout Michigan.We offer:Competitive compensationComprehensive benefits packagePaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesMission-driven work that positively impacts communitiesCollaborative leadership and supportive team environmentOpportunities to broaden your Human Resources expertise across multiple disciplinesWork EnvironmentThis is a full-time position primarily based in an office environment with occasional travel between agency locations to support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, and other Human Resources initiatives.
