IMPORTANT LICENSING REQUIREMENT

Applicants must currently hold an active Arizona Assisted Living Facility Manager license. This credential is required for consideration.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lead a purpose-driven assisted living and memory care community by championing culture, supporting exceptional resident experiences, and stewarding the business. You’ll guide people, operations, sales, quality, and compliance while developing a high-performing team and a strong market presence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Assume responsibility for the overall operation of the community and the services provided to residents and families. Oversee daily community operations within Highgate policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with Arizona assisted living licensing requirements, OSHA standards, and safety regulations. Lead hiring, coaching, performance management, and development of department heads and team members. Build team loyalty, gain buy-in, and lead through influence, accountability, and clear expectations. Drive occupancy and community reputation through sales leadership, outreach, and relationship development. Manage budgets, labor, billing accuracy, expenses, and key performance indicators. Foster customer engagement, respond to feedback, and uphold Highgate service standards. Chair or participate in the Safety Committee and monitor workers’ compensation cases. Ensure required training is delivered, completed, and documented. Promote resident-centered care for individuals who need physical or cognitive support, including those living with dementia.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Operational acumen and financial literacy, including P&L, labor, budgets, and key performance indicators. Track record of creating team loyalty, gaining buy-in, and working effectively through influence. Clear communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship‑building skills. Strong organization, time management, persistence, flexibility, and adaptability. Warm, professional customer service and a resident‑first mindset. Ability to work independently with appropriate accountability. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn database and community‑management systems. Understanding of senior care, memory care, and how residents living with dementia can continue to live with purpose.

RELATABLE EXPERIENCE

Executive leadership of an assisted living or memory care community. Senior living, healthcare, or another applicable multi‑department service business at the executive level. Regulatory compliance, licensing oversight, and survey readiness. Sales leadership, sales coaching, community outreach, and business development. Growing a business, improving customer engagement, and strengthening operating performance. Leading teams while balancing customer service, compliance, and problem‑solving.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current, active Arizona Assisted Living Facility Manager license is required. Applicants without this credential will not be considered. At least four years of senior housing leadership or other applicable executive‑level business leadership. Demonstrated experience managing multi‑department teams. Knowledge of assisted living operations, resident care, and the needs of seniors and their families. Prior sales leadership and sales coaching experience. At least 21 years of age. Valid driver's license with a qualifying driving record. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain. Current negative TB test. Required combination of education and experience for Arizona licensing and the role. Ability to pass background checks required for healthcare environments. Strong computer skills, organization, communication, and attention to detail.
