Development Officer Job Summary Reporting to the Lead Advancement Officer, this role at the J.Willard Marriott Library is responsible for helping manage manyofour day-to-day fundraising operations. This role manages donorengagement events, volunteer boards, annual giving, and donorstewardship. This role is also critical in supporting the LeadAdvancement Officer's major gift work by helping identify andmaintain a pool of prospective donors. The successful candidatewill help assess program needs, develop case statements, identifyand cultivate prospects, and manage giving campaigns. Specific telecommuting arrangements will be based onthe needs of the position and authorized at the discretion of thesupervisor. This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship. Responsibilities Plan and coordinate two existing, donor engagement events. Lead three volunteer boards by managing board meetings,membership, goals and priorities. Identify and cultivate annual and major gift prospects asneeded. Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with librarypersonnel, board members, and donors through regular communication,meetings, and personalized outreach strategies. Create an engagement pipeline for prospective donors. Serve as the primary liaison to the University AdvancementAnnual Giving Team. Coordinate with Advancement on appeals and campaigns. mailinglists and track prospects in the UNITE system, prioritizingcultivation and solicitation efforts based on donor capacity andengagement. Working in concert with the Central Advancement Donor RelationsTeam, execute a best-practices stewardship program including impactreporting, endowment reports, appropriate acknowledgement andrecognition of gifts, and maintain a high level of donorengagement. Working with the Lead Advancement Officer and the Director ofMarketing and Public Relations, create a meaningful annual impactreport for library donors and stakeholders. Ensure gifts are correctly deposited into the appropriate giftaccounts Complete other duties assigned by the library's LeadAdvancement Officer. Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience). Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels: Development Officer: Requires abachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (orequivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience. Preferences Demonstrated understanding of strategic solicitation, and thedonor cycle. Previous experience working in a university or a culturalheritage institution.
