This in-person role is based in Greenfield, IN. The Program Manager will lead and oversee complex programs within Bascom Hunter. This role requires an understanding of government contracting, defense systems engineering, and cross-functional program execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, prior experience in the defense or aerospace industry, and a proven track record managing programs from capture through delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end program execution for defense and aerospace contracts, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality.Act as the key liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements, expectations, and progress.Oversee program scope definition, requirements development, project planning, resource allocation, and performance tracking.Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and manufacturing specialists in the design, integration, and qualification of environmental control and power systems.Drive program reviews, risk management, and mitigation planning throughout the entire program lifecycle.Manage technical baselines, customer deliverables, schedules and contract compliance in accordance with DoD and industry standards.Support proposal development, cost estimating, and contract negotiation for new opportunities.Mentor junior engineers and project leads, fostering a culture of technical rigor and operational excellence.Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, export control regulations (ITAR/EAR), and internal quality systems.Proactively identify and mitigate technical and programmatic risks.Support strategic planning, resource allocation, and long-term customer relationship development.Prepare and present regular status updates, technical reviews, and financial reports to senior leadership and customers.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.Minimum of 5 years of program management experience in the defense, aerospace, or government contracting sectors.Proven leadership managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple concurrent programs.Excellent communication, organizational, and customer-facing skills.U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.Preferred QualificationsStrong working knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, MIL-STD compliance, and earned value management (EVM).Advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent a plus.Why Join Us?Work on meaningful, cutting-edge projects that support national security and advanced technology.Be part of a small, collaborative team where your ideas and contributions make a direct impact.Enjoy a dynamic, hands-on work environment with opportunities for professional growth.All positions at Bascom Hunter are subject to background investigations.
