About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Business Process Consultant to help leading Life Sciences and Consumer/Retail organizations solve complex business and operational challenges through business process transformation, digital strategy, enterprise technology, data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

This highly client-facing consulting role combines business process engineering, technology consulting, operational excellence, and digital transformation. You will partner closely with executive business stakeholders, operations leaders, supply chain organizations, and technology teams to understand business challenges, identify process improvement opportunities, and design practical technology-enabled solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate possesses strong consulting experience, excellent business process knowledge, practical data fluency, and the ability to bridge business strategy, operations, enterprise technology, and AI across complex Life Sciences and/or Consumer/Retail environments.

The core expectation of this role is the ability to identify and frame a business or operational problem, analyze the underlying process, validate the problem using enterprise transactional data, and build a compelling, data-backed case for how the process should change through process redesign, technology, automation, or AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and frame complex business and operational problems through client discovery, stakeholder interviews, process workshops, and structured problem-solving.
• Map and analyze end-to-end processes across Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Clinical and Commercial Operations using Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, Process Engineering, Operational Excellence, or similar methodologies to identify root causes, bottlenecks, waste, risks, controls, and improvement opportunities.
• Combine process analysis with enterprise transactional data to test hypotheses, diagnose root causes, quantify process inefficiencies, and validate findings against source systems such as SAP using data models and SQL or equivalent queries.
• Assess opportunities for process redesign, analytics, intelligent automation, AI/GenAI, and enterprise technology, determining the most appropriate intervention based on business value, feasibility, risk, and process context.
• Translate findings into quantified business cases and compelling executive narratives that clearly articulate the problem, supporting evidence, recommended future state, expected value, and roadmap for change.
• Support implementation through solution design, testing, adoption, and business readiness, partnering with Data & AI, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, and Change Management teams.
• Identify and shape expansion opportunities, supporting pre-sales pursuits and proposal development.
• Complete required enablement training and stay current with industry, regulatory, and technology developments in Life Sciences.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in Management Consulting, Business Consulting, Process Engineering, Digital Transformation, or Technical Consulting, including engagements within Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, or Life Sciences organizations.
• Track record leading process assessments, requirements workshops, operating model design, and transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, Process Engineering, Operational Excellence, or similar methodologies to diagnose process problems, identify root causes, quantify improvement opportunities, and design measurable future-state processes.
• Practical fluency with AI, GenAI, and intelligent automation, with the ability to evaluate business processes, identify credible use cases, distinguish AI opportunities from traditional automation or process redesign, and articulate expected business value.
• Hands-on comfort working with enterprise transactional data, including understanding data models, interpreting and modifying SQL or equivalent queries, analyzing process-level data, and validating conclusions against systems of record such as SAP. The candidate does not need to be a data engineer but must be sufficiently data-fluent to independently validate process hypotheses.
• Experience with enterprise technologies (ERP, CRM, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Data & Analytics, or Cloud) and the analytical ability to translate business problems into practical solutions.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to synthesize process findings, transactional data, operational insights, and technology opportunities into clear executive presentations, quantified business cases, ROI analyses, and persuasive recommendations for change.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Process Mining or Process Intelligence platforms.
• Working knowledge of GxP, FDA regulations, validation and Life Sciences compliance requirements, and how they constrain process and solution design.
• Experience with Supply Chain, Clinical Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Quality, or Commercial Operations.
• Experience working for a management consulting or professional services organization.

Compensation

**Base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000**
