Overton Brooks VA Medical Center has an active accredited research program and is one of the regional hematology and oncology centers. They conduct research to develop VA scientists and health care leaders, and create innovations that advance health care for Veterans and the nation. Overton Brooks VA Medical Center is a teaching hospital that provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. Be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.Operative Services: Provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including the full range of colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures such as:ColonoscopyColonoscopy via colostomyColonoscopy w/biopsy(ies)Colonoscopy w/ablation of tumor/polyp/lesionColonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forcepColonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare techniqueColonoscopy w/out biopsyColonoscopy w/ submucosalEsophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)EGD diagnosticEGD w/biopsy(ies)EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forcepsEGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare techniqueERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. Procedures shall be scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult.Follow all established medication policies and procedures.
