At New Horizons in Autism, we’re looking for energetic, compassionate, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are passionate about empowering adults with autism to live fulfilling, connected, and independent lives.

As a DSP in a day program setting, you’ll be part of a supportive team helping individuals build confidence, develop valuable employment readiness and life skills, and achieve personal goals that promote independence and success in the workplace and community — all while creating meaningful relationships and engaging community experiences along the way!

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same in this rewarding day program role! As a Direct Support Professional, you will support individuals with daily living activities while encouraging independence, confidence, and personal growth. You’ll participate in fun community outings, recreational activities, and events, while also assisting with cooking, cleaning, personal care, and skill development. Responsibilities also include transporting individuals to appointments, activities, and home, administering and supervising medication, completing documentation and progress notes, and helping create a safe, healthy, positive, and supportive environment where individuals can thrive.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for team members who are caring, reliable, positive, and ready to make an impact!

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (diploma/transcripts required)

• Must be at least 20 years old

• Valid New Jersey driver’s license

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with individuals with autism

• Must successfully complete all required background screenings, including:

  • Central Registry

  • DMV check

  • Fingerprinting

  • Drug screening

  • Physical and PPD
