This is a key leadership position reporting directly tothe CEO, with responsibility for maintaining financial systems, ensuringcompliance with GAAP, and leading an accounting team of 8 full-time employees. KeyResponsibilities: Overseeand manage the accounting and financial reporting functions. Ensureaccurate and timely financial information. Maintainand develop internal control procedures to protect company assets. Prepareand review budgets, financial projections, and monthly financial statements. Coordinatethe preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returnswith a third-party CPA firm. Ensurecompliance with new accounting standards and emerging guidance. Coordinateexternal financial statement audits and prepare requested documents. Developand review accounting policies. Managethe maintenance of fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Resolveaccounting and financial management issues in collaboration with team members. Supervise,train, and evaluate the accounting department staff. Reviewgeneral ledger reconciliations prepared by staff accountants. Monitorand report job status activity and job profitability. Maintainrelationships with bankers, external accountants, and insurance agents. Overseepayroll processing and benefit administration with a third-party serviceprovider. Managethe company 401k plan. Assistwith special projects and assignments related to financial decisions. Serveas an informational resource for federal and state examiners, and internal andexternal auditors. Ensurecompliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Providefinancial management support for projects as requested by Senior Management. Offerfinancial advice to the CEO and proactively prepare for future requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor’sdegree in finance, accounting, or economics required; master’s degree orprofessional designation (e.g. CPA or CMA) highly preferred. Minimumof ten years of accounting, audit, and financial experience with strongknowledge of accounting principles and corporate taxation. Significantexperience in a commercial environment, preferably with some exposure to theaviation industry. Demonstratedmanagement and supervisory experience with strong interpersonal skills. Excellentcommunication and presentation skills. Strongproblem-solving abilities and conceptual thinking. Experiencewith Quantum ERP preferred but not required.
