Security GuardThe Security Guard is responsible for providing initial contact with patients and maintaining a visible presence to deter illegal, unauthorized, or dangerous activity in the clinics and clinic grounds.The Security Guard performs responsible security work in a variety of activities including foot patrol, crime prevention, community relations, and non-criminal security services. You can contribute pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) towards your retirement savings.Flexible Spending AccountsBasic Life and AD&DSupplemental Life and AD&DShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityAccident & Critical Illness InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramOur Mission is to provide a quality, integrated healthcare home to the communities we serveSupervision Received:Works under the direct supervision of the Security Manager in cooperation with the Center Directors and Leadership staffSpecific Duties:Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Dental Providers, Behavioral Health Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associates, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated healthcareActs as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to SaludFollows procedures for the electronic health records systemMay perform special project assignment duties in foot patrol, crime prevention, or community affairs as assignedResponds to requests for assistance from the public, fellow officers, fire department, ambulance services, and police agenciesRenders first-aid assistance as necessaryResponds to calls of a non-criminal nature such as verbal disturbances, abandoned vehicles, and parking complaintsGets acquainted with patients in the assigned facilityIdentifies problems; attends meetings; teaches classes, and improves community relationsCommunicates verbally and effectively by listening to people and by giving information, directions, and commandsSolves problems, exercise independent judgment and determines when there is a reasonable need to notify law enforcementConducts visual and audio surveillanceConducts patrols of buildings, structures, and large outdoor areas which may involve walking, running, and/or standing for long periods of timeWorks in changing environmental conditions such as fog, smoke, rain, ice, and snow to assist patients, staff, medical personnel, and emergency servicesUses body force to gain entrance through barriers to search and/or rescueOperates a personal computer including associated software programsOperates a motor vehicle in traveling to and from work sitesAssures facilities and equipment are maintained properly and coordinates maintenance and repair functionsTakes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidentsAdministrative Duties:Gathers information by interviewing and obtaining statements Manage interpersonal conflicts to maintain orderReads and comprehends rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresWrites clear, factual, incident reports to include after-action reports if requiredMaintains Daily Activity ReportsMaintains visitor logs, and other written correspondence as requiredQualificationsEducation:High school diploma or GED, is requiredExperience:One to three years of experience with computers is preferredOne to three years of experience in physical security is preferredOne to three years' customer service experience preferredLicensure/Certifications:Valid Drivers LicenseFirst Responder or Basic Life Support (BLS) required within the first 60 days of employmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must work well with the patient care teamFamiliarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Windows-based programs requiredMust have the technical aptitude to work with Security Technology (closed-circuit monitoring, digital recording systems, cellular technology, and two-way radios)Team player who desires to work in a customer service environmentWorks well under pressure and is capable of making critical and well thought out decisions under duressDependable and displays a good work ethicRequires little to no supervision, is self-motivated, and able to maintain confidentialityExcellent interpersonal skills, verbal skills, and written skills are a mustAble to work flexible work schedules to include evenings and weekendsPassion for working in a non-profit that provides health care services for low-income individuals and familiesDisplays cultural sensitivitySensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a mustBilingual English/Spanish preferred
