Loan Servicing Specialist

TruChoice FCU , a growing $250M credit union located in the greater Portland Maine area is hiring a Loan Servicing Specialist. This role is based in our South Portland Operations Center. The Loan Servicing Specialist performs a variety of loan functions in connection with real estate and consumer loans, including processing the final closing and distribution of paid loans, preparation of payoff demand statements and maintenance, tracking and reviewing of all pending and or closed loan documents. Ability to work with computer database programs and to input large amounts of data accurately is required. The role ensures automotive titles have accurate information, closely inspect details of titles, maintains records within credit union and DMV. Additionally, the Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for processing new and existing property liens, ordering real estate appraisal, flood search and title search requests in a timely manner. Responsibilities Order, track, and record titles on vehicles held as collateral. Ensure all TruChoice liens are perfected and documentation retained properly. Order, track, and review all real estate title and appraisal orders. Maintain database, work with supervisors and FSRs to ensure an efficient and consistent process. Responsible for tracking and maintaining home equity deeds to ensure TruChoice liens are perfected and documentation retained properly. Completes lien releases in a timely manner as loans are paid in full, tracks and retains related documentation. Complete monthly compliance on Home equites and first mortgages Responsible for tracking and maintaining Member direct and Student Lending documents to ensure documentation is completed and retained properly within system. Assists with completion of reports related to NCUA, FHLB, HMDA, and the Annual Notification of Federal Credit Unions. Acts as High Price Mortgage (HPM) and portfolio mortgage request liaison. Identifies and reports trends to Manager Completes various loan documentation to include, subordination requests, rate match requests, skip-a-pay monitoring, monthly insurance settlement, credit reporting, and credit inquiries/corrections. Makes recommendations and assists with the creation and maintenance of loan operations workflow to ensure efficiency, consistency and member serviced standards are maintained through value stream. Occasionally performs underwriting functions utilizing the credit union’s lending philosophy. Requirements One year to three years of similar or related experience. A two-year college degree, completion of a specialized certification or licensing, completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information. Must be able to operate general office equipment including calculator, photocopier, PC, telephone; requires lifting and motions tasks.
