The Production Planner is responsible for leading production planning and materials control to support daily manufacturing operations. This role works closely with production, purchasing, quality, and engineering to resolve shortages, adjust priorities, and keep builds moving through the system efficiently./ppResponsibilities:/pulliEnsure material availability aligns with production schedules and production demand/liliWorks together with Inventory to support the creation, release, and ongoing management of Manufacturing Orders (MOs) within Costpoint/liliMonitor MO status, identify risks, and coordinate with production to drive timely resolution/liliPartner with production teams to maintain schedule alignment and priority execution/liliSupport prototype, NPI, and production builds through proper planning and system setup/li/ulpERP / Costpoint Management/pulliServe as a key user and functional lead for MRP/ ERP related to planning and materials/liliMaintain and manage BOMs, part data, demand signals, and supply parameters within MRP/ERP/liliEnsure accurate transaction flow including reservations, issues, completions, and closures/liliDrive process improvements within MRP/ERP to improve efficiency and visibility/li/ulpMaterials and Supply Chain Coordination/pulliInitiate and maintain purchase requisitions in MRP/ERP to support production and forecasted demand/liliDrive RFQ (Request for Quote) activities for new or constrained parts, working with Purchasing to obtain quotes, evaluate options, and support supplier selection/liliPartner with Purchasing to support sourcing, alternate parts, and supplier performance/liliReview shortages, drive mitigation actions, and support expediting when required/liliAnalyze demand, forecasts, and inventory to support planning decisions/liliSupport surge, ramp-up, and critical program needs/li/ulpCross-Functional Support/pulliWork closely with Engineering on BOM accuracy, part changes, and new product releases/liliSupport Quality and Receiving with inspection priorities and material issues/liliAssist Finance with cost tracking, reporting, and inventory accuracy/liliParticipate in production meetings and provide clear status on builds, risks, and constraints/li/ulpData, Metrics and Continuous Improvement/pulliDevelop and track KPIs related to planning, material readiness, and on-time delivery/liliAnalyze production and materials data to identify gaps and improve performance/liliSupport implementation of standardized planning and material control processes/liliDrive improvements in MRP/ ERP utilization/li/ulpLeadership and Execution/pulliSupervise, assign and monitor tasks, and prioritize work for an assistant planner/liliSupport assistant planner development while maintaining accountability for results/li/ulpAdditional Responsibilities/pulliMaintain professional relationships with internal teams and external suppliers/liliSupport audits, compliance requirements, and documentation needs/liliJob responsibilities within our organization are dynamic.
