This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 164 Waccamaw Medical Park Drive, Conway, SC 29526. This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position. As a Qualified Mental Health Professional, you will serve on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team providing evidence-based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower level of care options. Supervision is provided by ACT Team Manager and psychiatric team lead. Responsibilities for the Qualified Mental Health Professional I Include: Provide direct services to ACT patients guiding them in the development of skills/strategies towards achieving and maintaining good mental health and facilitate training of independent living skills. Utilize assertive engagement to have patients take part in service. Assist patients with access to community services, resources and agencies. Complete screenings and assessments for referrals and assist with development and revisions of instructional continuity plans (ICP). Supply family psychoeducation and work with the patient's natural support system. Facilitate the person-centered planning process for patients assigned to team member. Participate in clinical supervision and attend treatment team meetings daily. Deliver consultation regarding complex cases as appropriate. Pursue professional development and demonstrate effective use of social and interpersonal knowledge and skills. Must show an understanding and appreciation of individual and group difference and similarities. Complete documentation according to QA/OMH, State, Federal, CARF standards, corporate compliance policy, risk management plan and timely completion of prior authorizations. Clear presentation of comprehensive oral and written reports to community members and senior leadership is required. Maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines. Qualifications: A master's degree in guidance, counseling or social services is a requirement. State of SC LISW-CP, LMFT, LPC or licensed psychologist, and a masters/doctoral degree from a program that is primarily psychological in nature from an accredited university/college, and one year of experience working with adults with SPMI, working for a state agency. LMSW is also acceptable. Additional Requirements: Must meet OMH credentialing requirements which include specific graduate course work including Psychopathology/Psychopathology Diagnostics/Clinical Assessments - Practice with Family Therapy (DSM) and medical ethics. Must be able to show one year evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care and working with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. This experience maybe documented as a practicum, internship or post-graduate experience. Ability to lift 20 pounds; ability to see, hear at normal volumes, stand, walk, reach, pull, stoop, bend and climb at least (2) flights of stairs. Ability to tolerate noise level and circulate in patient areas for long periods of time. Must be able to work with repetitive patient behaviors. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Post hire, Employee Must: Be able to provide a 10-year driving record. Be able to use a state vehicle for work related purposes. Use clinical judgement while working independently at times and be self-directed.
